Revis deal done.

DarrelleRevis1The deal is done and here is some of the terms.

Revis has signed a six-year, $96 million deal with the Buccaneers. it’s a pay-as-you-go, $16 million annual contract.  None of it is guaranteed. If the Bucs choose to keep Revis, they’ll pay him $16 million per year for the privilege of doing so.  If/when the Bucs decide that Revis isn’t earning his keep, the Bucs can cut him. So this means Revis will earn $16 million for this year and more than likely 2014 if all goes well this season, if the Bucs feel Revis isn’t performing they can either trade him or they can re – negotiate the contract. But, with Revis’s skill level, he can perform at a very high level, so this may mean Revis may feel if he is playing very well he may think he is worth more than that, but we will see in the very near future.

Revis to Tampa.

Darrelle Revis - NFL PRO ZACHJets corner back Darrelle Revis  has landed in Tampa, multiple media outlets have reported this just recently. it’s clear that the Jets want to trade Revis, and that the Bucs want him on their team. The Buccaneers have received permission to give Revis a physical as Tampa Bay tries to complete a trade for the standout corner back  The deal is agreed upon, with the physical as the last step.

in my opinion he is one of the best corners in the NFL and could play in any team, I don’t know what i think to this move but… all the best to him and whatever the future will bring for Revis but i think the Jets will miss him.

Celtics vs Knicks 78 – 85

Cs-and-Knicks2-e1359066265965In this extremely exciting game of the Eastern conference play off game one at Madison square garden the Celtics took on the Knicks. And this game did not disappoint, great crowd, explosive plays, it had it all…

Lets kick of with some stats for this great game. Firstly the Celtics. Jeff Green came away with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Paul Pierce got 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Avery Bradley got 15 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

Now for the Knicks. Carmelo Anthony came away with 36 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist. Raymond Felton got 13 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. And of the bench J.R. Smith got 15 points and 5 rebounds.

The game started of fast paced with a thunderous New York crowd, definitely playing as the 6th man for the Knicks. The Knicks started of great, Carmelo Anthony as usual taking charge of the ball game, but the Celtics where not far behind, also playing fast and good with Jeff Green scoring and coming out hot. Throughout the first quarter the game was close, the Knicks taking the lead for most of the game, only by a couple of points at a time with the Celtics right behind them. Late in the quarter the Celtic took the lead and seemed to take control of the game with J.Green scoring a great 3 pointer at the very end to put the Celtics 29 –  26 up at the quarter. with Green scoring 8 points while Anthony scored 13 points.

Again the game came out fast, the players where ready for the action  and the crowd where definitely ready for the action. The ball game kept me watching, it was fast, high scoring, back and forth, a general great ball game and best of all there was nothing in this game, any team could take the lead at any point, but not for long because the other team would be straight back in the game. Carmelo Anthony did a beautiful spin and 2 point jump shot that got the crowd thunderous, but the Celtics  did seem to silence the New York crowd with J.Green scoring 20 points in the first half, (12 points second quarter) with Anthony seeming to be kept quit but still scoring 19 points this half. In this exciting ball game the half ended 53 – 49 Celtics.

Both teams came out after the half starting off slower on offense than they did in the beginning of the game, with Carmelo Anthony hitting a 3 pointer to score the first points of the half after 2 and a half minutes. The game was still a tight ball game at the half way point of the third quarter, still a very much exciting game and the crowd still playing as the 6th man. C.Anthony found his game again after a couple of sloppy plays in the last quarter,he did the usual really, he scored, he played good ball. The Celtics where also playing great, the overall quarter again was a banger, entertaining, action packed as previous quarters, with a nice back and forth, still anybody’s game. Celtics did take their biggest lead in the last minute, taking a 7 point lead with the quarter coming to an end. Boston averaged 44% shooting while the Knicks averaged 41% shooting, ending the quarter 70 -67 to the Celtics.

The knicks came out strong taking the lead early on in the fourth, the crowd was so loud and in to the ball game.  The Celtics with a slow start with their first points coming after 5 minutes into the fourth quarter. With the fourth at the half way point the Knicks look to be getting the better of the Celtics, in my opinion the home crowd was a big factor in this, but the Celtics where still very much in the ball game but did look like they where finding it hard to score late on. this is why everyone loves the playoffs though, its so exciting and anything can happen here. But with the sloppiness of the Celtics in the last couple of minutes gave away points to the knicks The Celtics finished with 41%shooting and the knicks finished with 41% shooting. The Knicks did prove to be too much for the Celtics winning the game 85 – 78 only giving 8 points in the fourth quarter.

Packers vs 49ers Opening day 2013

tumblr_ma3fynGggk1qbqzxco1_500The Green Bay Packers are starting their season where it ended for them in 2012 at San Francisco.  The Packers are opening the 2013 season at the 49ers in a game where the Packers will be looking for a victory over the team that beat them at the start of 2012 at LAMBEAU FIELD and also the team that beat them in the NFC divisional round to finish of Green Bay , moving the 49ers onto the NFC Championship game and then onto the Superbowl.

The 49ers are going into this game knowing that they can beat the packers, they have proved this twice last season, but… this is a new season and last season means nothing now. The Packers will come out strong and look to start the season hot and get going from the get go picking up the win. The 49ers are no pushovers though, and will also want to come out strong and get another victory over the Packers and move on with the season with hopes of getting back to the Superbowl and having a winning season that they failed to do at the last hurdle at the beginning of the year.  The game will be a must watch, with two of the biggest and best teams in the NFL going head to head on opening day in an epic rematch.

Grizzlies vs Jazz

NBA: Utah Jazz at Memphis GrizzliesWith the Grizzlies looking for a win to gain home field advantage and the Jazz looking to get in to the playoff picture with a win over Memphis and a Lakers loss, Lets take a look at how the game went.

As usual lets kick it off with some stats, first up, the Memphis Grizzlies. Zach Randolph came away with 25 points, 19 rebounds and 2 assists. Mike Conley got 14 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Tony Allen came away with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Darrell Arthur got 11 points and 3 rebounds.

Now for the Utah Jazz. Al Jefferson came away with 22 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists. Gordon Hayward got 9 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. And of the bench , Derrick Favors got 4 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists.

In the first quarter both teams seemed to come out slow, steady and didn’t seem to be in to much of a rush, but it was still a decent back and forth game, with very low scoring. I didn’t expect high scoring from this game with the Jazz averaging 45% Fg while the Grizzlies where averaging 44% coming into this game. And it wasn’t high scoring, the shooting was bad and that’s a compliment. In the first quarter the Jazz had 7/21 Fg and the Grizzlies had 8/23, that’s the example of how the shooting was going for both teams. A nice play was put together in the final seconds of the first, Foye scoring 2 points to tie the game 17 – 17.Jazz having 33% shooting in the first quarter and the Grizzlies with 35%.

Coming into the second both teams came out the exact same, it was slow, no get up and go in the ball game, with only 1 point scored within the first 2 minutes of the second quarter, by a Memphis FT.  In this slow paced quarter the Jazz scored 21 points while the Grizzlies scored 23 points. The half ended 40 – 38 Grizzlies.

Again, teams came out not doing too much, the game really could of gone any way at this point, both teams where playing back and forth basketball and both teams where  never far apart on the score board, it was not the most exciting game in the world but it did keep me watching to see who was going to win with what is at stake. Near the end of the third quarter the game did pick up, the crowd got more into the game, the players did too which made the game more entertaining to watch. The quarter ended with the Jazz shooting 32% and the Grizzlies shooting 40%, the quarter ended 65 – 51 Grizzlies in another quarter without high scoring.

In the fourth the Grizzlies started to pull away from the Jazz, taking and maintaining a 20 point lead, leaving the Jazz behind. But, to  the credit of the Jazz they put up a fight and did lower the score difference to 10 points with 4 minutes to go in the ball game. The Grizzlies did pull away again from the Jazz, winning the game 86 – 70.

Packers and Mathews done deal.

clay_matthews_wallpaper_2-otherAccording to NFL Network, Clay Mathews and the Green Bay Packers have come to an agreement on a long term contract.

It was reported for a while now that the deal between Mathews and the Packers was close, but today the deal is supposed to go down and keeping Mathews in the Packers for a long time. They recently locked up Aaron Rodgers, now keeping Mathews, this is a big thing for the Packers, Keeping arguably the best quarterback and one of the best pass rushers in the game, Green Bay organisation and fans will be happy with this deal, and will be looking forward to another season with these two great players in the team.

Bulls vs Magic 102 – 84

magic-vs-bulls-580-200In Orlando Magics last home game of the season they take on the Chicago Bulls.

As usual lets kick off with some stats for the game, starting with the Magic. Tobias Harris came away with 20 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Maurice Harkless got 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Nikola Vucevic got 17 points, 14 rebound and 2 assists.

Now for some stats from the Bulls. Carlos Boozer came away with, 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Luol Deng got 18 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Player of the game Kirk Hinrich got 14 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists. Marco Belinelli got 16 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists. Taj Gibson got 12 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist.

The game starts with a nice fast pace by both teams, but the Magic are more in control and making a lot more offensive plays. Although Chicago where playing more defense than the Magic, they did stay very much in the game and where either level with the Magic or within a few points. Eventually the Bulls did pick up play to take their first lead of the game early on, but the Magi got straight back in control of the ball game. Nearing the end of the first quarter the game seemed to come to a bit of a stand still and not much was happening in all honesty, the quarter ended 23 -21 to the Magic.

At the start of the second quarter both teams came out the same as the first quarter, not too much between the two teams at the start of this game. Again, just like the first quarter the score stayed pretty much within 2- 3 points. But finally near the end of the quarter the Bulls take full control of the score board and they eventually take their biggest lead of the game, 49 – 37 Bulls, bringing the game to the half way point. Bulls averaging 55% shooting while Magic are shooting 35%.

In the third Chicago came out just how they ended the half, they came out strong. The Bulls came out with good shooting, good defense, overall controlling the ball game. Bulls lead by 20 points with 8 minutes left in the quarter. Bulls shooting 67% in the first 6 minutes of the 3rd quarter. The Bulls moved the ball around well in tonight’s game, shooting very well, running around the Magic like it’s nothing. With the quarter coming to an end the Bulls started to leave the Magic behind in this quarter. The quarter comes to an end with the Bulls taking a big lead 77 – 54.

In the fourth quarter the game pretty much just stayed the same,at the beginning of the quarter the Bulls stayed far ahead of the Magic, usually keeping a 18 – 20 point lead, it stayed like the for the most part of  the fourth quarter. The Bulls end the game with a shooting average of 56% and the magic ended the game with 41%. The Bulls player Kurt Hinrich got player of the game, while the Bulls went on to win 102 – 84, putting them to 44- 37.

Bulls vs Heat Game Recap – 93 – 105

heatbullsIn a needles game for Miami, having already clinched the playoffs they face off against the Bulls, looking for their 36th home game victory this season.

to kick of the recap, as usual here is some stats for today’s game, starting with the Bulls.

Carlos Boozer had 16 points, 20 rebounds and 3 assists today. Luol Deng came away with 19 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Jimmy Butler got 13 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist. Kirk Hinrich got 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Marco Belinelli got 7 points, 1 rebound and 3 assists. Coming of the Bulls bench Nate Robinson came away with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists and Daequan Cook got 10 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist.

Moving on to the Heat now.

Lebron James came away with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Chris Bosh got 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Mario Chalmers got 15 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Mike Miller got 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Dwayne Wade came away with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Coming of the bench Chris Anderson came away with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist. He also had 11 free throws this game, scoring 7 of them.

Any Miami vs Chicago game is physical, this game was the same, 6 Heat players ending up on the floor in the first 6 minutes of the game. But the Heat seemed to control this game throughout. it was an enjoyable game with good back and forth action and as i said, it was physical. Miami already clinched the playoffs, they didn’t need a victory, but they still battled and went on to win.

In the second half i was liking Miami’s defense, they where defending well and they turned a lot of defensive plays into attacking plays for them selves and made points from doing so.  Miami had a few sloppy plays at the beginning of the third quarter, giving the bulls two chances for 4 points. But Miami where still very in control of the game, Miami controlled the ball game, besides one point in the third quarter they went 1 point behind, soon to being it back on go ahead of the Bulls. Miami led the Bulls 86 – 77 at the end of the third. Miami had a shooting percentage of 59% and the Bulls had 40%.

In the fourth quarter Miami again controlled the game, they seemed to not have any problems with the bulls. But although the bulls aren’t playing with their strongest team, i didn’t think the bulls where playing well, but to their credit they did ‘hang’ with the bulls still, by no means was it a blow out.  With 1 minute left in the game Mike Miller scored a 3 pointer and Lebron James scored 2 points from the free throw putting the final nail in the coffin of the Bulls. Miami victorious against the Bulls, winning their 36th home game this season in a physical enjoyable game.
